Rapid7, Inc. launched Rapid7 Intelligence as a unified engine that combines threat intelligence and vulnerability research with Rapid7 Labs. The company said the effort targets a shift from reactive monitoring to proactive prevention by centralizing operational insight into its products and services.
Rapid7 Intelligence is described as integrating threat intelligence, vulnerability research, and the legacy of Rapid7 Labs. Rapid7 said it monitors threats in real time and delivers expert-validated insights, while also referencing Q2 tracking of 8,539 critical vulnerabilities and activity involving phishing, reconnaissance, and script development.
The company said Rapid7 Intelligence analyzes attacker behavior and emphasizes curated, vetted intelligence focused on “true signals” rather than waiting for alerts after damage occurs. Rapid7 also described an example from Rapid7 researchers: a modular Linux malware ecosystem that spans BPFDoor variants, BPF Rekoobe, droppers, and AVERAT implants, along with two campaigns linked by shared behavior using SMTP to blend into a victim’s DMZ and maintain long-term access.
Rapid7 said Rapid7 Intelligence will continue tracking and disrupting tactics such as the described campaigns, and that the offering includes immediate protective force, a unified intelligence engine, and an uncompromised community arsenal that keeps critical advisories, vulnerability research, and exploitation insights open. Christiaan Beek, Vice President of Rapid7 Intelligence, said, “Static threat intelligence isn't completely dead—it's just sitting in standard dashboards doing what it's always done, giving organizations a false sense of security while autonomous threat agents burn down their perimeters.”
