Quantinuum selected by DARPA to advance to Stage B of Quantum Benchmarking Initiative
Quantinuum, a leader in quantum computing, was selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to advance to Stage B of the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI). The selection comes after a six-month Stage A effort where Quantinuum developed a concept design for a utility-scale quantum computer named “Lumos.”
DARPA aims to assess the likelihood of achieving a utility-scale quantum computer by 2033. Quantinuum announced plans to create an extensive roadmap to validate technical assumptions and scaling strategies during this year-long evaluation phase.
Recently, Quantinuum delivered its latest system, “Helios,” on schedule. Helios features advanced fidelity capabilities and a new software stack that supports a modern programming language designed to enhance quantum computing use cases, including simulations relevant to industrial applications.
