Proofpoint Integrates With Claude Compliance API for Data Security
Proofpoint, Inc. said it integrated its platform with the Claude Compliance API to bring Proofpoint’s data security, insider risk capabilities, and Digital Communications Governance into Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform activity. The change targets how organizations view and control AI-assisted work within their existing governance approaches.
Proofpoint said AI assistants moved beyond pilot use, and cited its 2026 AI and Human Risk Landscape Report stating that 42% of global organizations had experienced a suspicious or confirmed AI-related incident. It also said security programs built around human activity needed to cover AI activity to provide a fuller view of risk, particularly as AI agents read files, draft communications, and trigger workflows.
The integration included two parts. Proofpoint’s first integration brought Claude Enterprise conversation content and Claude Platform activity logs into Proofpoint’s data security and insider risk solution. It said enterprises could apply existing classifiers, behavioral risk models, and data loss prevention policies to Claude Enterprise prompts, responses, files, projects, and administrative activity, while monitoring activity logs from Claude Platform.
The second integration extended Proofpoint’s Digital Communications Governance into Claude Enterprise. Proofpoint said capturing transcripts alone was not sufficient for regulatory supervision or investigations, and stated that the integrated solution used supervision, retention, eDiscovery, and investigation workflows, analyzing communication patterns to support review and decision reconstruction across human- and AI-generated interactions. “Organizations cannot succeed with one governance model for people and another for AI,” said Mayank Choudhary, EVP and GM of Proofpoint’s Information Protection, Cloud Security, and Compliance Products Group. “Humans and AI agents operate in the same workflows, access the same sensitive data, and shape the same business decisions. They require one control layer. By extending our data security, insider risk, and communications governance solutions into Claude, we’re enabling customers to manage AI activity through the same platform they trust to protect the rest of their enterprise. We are excited to integrate with the Claude Compliance API, which makes the integration of controls secure and scalable.” Proofpoint said the integrations were available today for Proofpoint and Anthropic customers deploying Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform in Anthropic-hosted environments.
