Pindrop launched Pindrop BotStopper™ technology, a standalone system designed to detect AI voice agents and automated callers in real time when calls reach a contact center. The company said the capability is part of its Identity Trust Platform expansion focused on interactions involving customers, workforces and AI agents.

According to Pindrop, AI agents increasingly call enterprise systems directly and contact centers may not be able to distinguish legitimate agents from malicious bots. The company cited research that it said showed AI-powered attacks increased nearly 1,680% since late 2024 across more than 700 million customer interactions.

Pindrop BotStopper detects AI voice agents and automated callers in real time and uses Pindrop Pulse® technology, which answers one question in about two seconds: whether the caller is a human or a machine. The company said BotStopper applies that detection engine to AI agents and automated callers interacting with enterprises at scale.

The offering is described as standalone and available to any enterprise without other Pindrop products required, and it is powered by the AI Voice Consortium’s registry of more than 5,000 AI voices managed in a Pindrop-managed database. Pindrop also said it expanded the Pindrop Intelligence Network (PIN) and introduced new PIN capabilities, and it reported results from a healthcare deployment where bot activity fell 94.3% within four months after real-time bot detection. “The goal is not to block AI agents. Legitimate agents are going to call enterprises on behalf of real customers and they should be welcomed,” said Vijay Balasubramaniyan, CEO and Co-Founder of Pindrop. “The goal is to know which agent is calling, who it represents and what it should be allowed to do. Pindrop BotStopper is the first step. It tells you in about two seconds that the caller is a machine and the AI Voice Consortium tells you which one. Everything we build from here answers the questions that follow.”
