Oracle Aconex adds Document Process and Test Plans for ITPs

Oracle said it added capabilities to Oracle Aconex aimed at improving how construction and engineering projects manage project information review, approvals, inspections, and related documentation. The company linked these updates to traceability and audit records within a single contractual System of Record (SOR).

The announcement addressed workflows that, according to Oracle, historically relied on offline spreadsheets for cross-team review comments. Oracle said the new capabilities were designed to reduce confusion and errors while keeping review activity connected to stored project materials.

Oracle Aconex’s new Document Process capabilities streamlined collaborative review of documents, drawings, and models through integrated comment management. Oracle said comments and resolution steps remained connected to the project’s contractual SOR and other relevant documents in Aconex’s centralized document register, supported by built-in audit trail functionality described as a full, unalterable record of review activity. Oracle also introduced an automated Review Matrix that initiated approval flow based on document metadata and distributed deliverables in a pre-agreed sequence.

Oracle said Aconex’s new Test Plans feature provided a structured, traceable ITP workflow connected to relevant project documents and critical information managed in Aconex. The company described test plan development with role and responsibility assignment, flexible workflows with status visibility, onsite inspection evidence capture, and audit-ready records of ITP communications, decisions, and actions, ending with final exportable packages of documented work. “In construction and engineering projects, owners, contractors, and other stakeholders expect a clear record of what happened including when decisions were made, and what information supported the work performed,” said Mark Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Infrastructure Industries. “The new Oracle Aconex enhancements help organizations collaborate with confidence, knowing the project system is tracking all material changes for improved traceability and control across the full lifecycle of a project.”
