Micron Ventures Launches $250 Million Fund to Invest in the Next Generation of AI
Micron Technology, Inc. launched the Micron Ventures Paradigm Fund, a $250 million investment vehicle created for investments tied to AI technology. The fund matters for enterprises tracking how AI workloads may affect memory, storage, and infrastructure decisions.
Micron said the shift from generative models toward AI systems that reason, act, and interact with the physical world changes compute, memory, and storage demands. The company positioned the fund to provide additional partnership opportunities and earlier visibility into AI infrastructure technologies.
The Paradigm Fund is described as investing across the AI technology stack, spanning model architectures and compute infrastructure, along with enterprise applications and physical AI. Micron said the fund would focus on four connected domains: model architecture and data infrastructure; compute, including in-memory compute and next-generation networking and data center efficiency; enterprise applications that cover semiconductor design and manufacturing; and physical AI, including robotics and new device form factors.
Micron Ventures’ Paradigm Fund is identified as the company’s third and largest fund, following Fund I launched in 2019 and Fund II launched in 2022, which remained actively deploying capital. With the Paradigm Fund, Micron Ventures’ total capital commitment increased to $550 million. “We’re in an exciting era of paradigm shifts, each one redefining what AI can do and what it requires,” said Rene Hartner, vice president of corporate development at Micron. “These advancements converge on one common need: high-performance memory and storage solutions. Micron’s Paradigm Fund will invest in and partner with startups driving these innovations and strengthen our ability to deliver leading memory and storage solutions to meet the growing AI demands.”
