MEF and Console Connect launch Open Source LSO Adaptor Tool for API integration
New Open Source tool simplifies integration between proprietary systems and MEF-standardized Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) APIs, available now via Model Evaluation Framework (MEF)’s LSO Marketplace.
MEF has introduced the LSO Adaptor Tool, an Open Source mapping tool available on GitHub and through the MEF LSO Marketplace. This release aims to facilitate integration between proprietary APIs and MEF's standardized LSO Business APIs.
The tool was developed with contributions from Console Connect, PCCW Global's platform for intelligent data movement. It allows service providers to engage with MEF's LSO Business APIs effectively, enhancing industry adoption of network automation.
Designed to aid the telecom sector, the LSO Adaptor Tool enables service providers to incorporate existing proprietary APIs and ensures compatibility with LSO-conformant partners. The tool promotes integration efficiency without requiring a complete redesign of operational APIs.
Pascal Menezes, CTO of MEF, stated, “The MEF LSO API Adaptor Tool marks an important step toward accelerating the adoption of standardized APIs for global interoperability. By making it easier to integrate proprietary systems with MEF LSO APIs, we’re reducing friction in ecosystem collaboration.”
The LSO Adaptor Tool offers several benefits, including:
- Simplified Application Programming Interface (API) Integration – Reduces development effort by providing a plug-and-play model.
- Enhanced Interoperability – Aligns existing APIs with MEF LSO API standards without current disruption.
- Flexibility and Scalability – Supports a variety of mappings to adapt to changing business needs.
Console Connect has made the tool available as an Open Source project to support MEF’s aims for comprehensive network automation. Paul Gampe, CTO of Console Connect, noted, “API standardization is fundamental to unlocking the full potential of automated services across the telecom ecosystem.”
The MEF LSO Adaptor Tool can be accessed on GitHub and the LSO Marketplace.
