Island Introduces Island for SMBs on the Pax8 Marketplace
Island introduced Island for SMBs on the Pax8 Marketplace, making the browser-based platform available to managed service provider partners and their SMB customers worldwide. The deployment matters because it consolidates multiple security functions into a single workspace that MSP partners can provision and manage within Pax8.
In the Pax8 Marketplace context, MSP partners can initiate onboarding through Pax8 and use the platform alongside their existing portfolio. Island for SMBs was positioned as a way to replace separately licensed tools with consolidated management and a single vendor relationship.
Island for SMBs consolidates VPN, web filtering, data loss prevention (DLP), and password management into one unified workspace built on the Chromium open-source browser project. Through Pax8, it includes safe browsing, anti-phishing protection and web content filtering built into the browser, plus Zero Trust Network Access via Island Private Access that replaces legacy VPN for managed and unmanaged devices.
The platform also includes last-mile data protection controls for copying, downloading, printing, and screenshotting sensitive data, including into AI tools. Additional options include AI Protect, an AI Browser with AI capabilities in a browser side panel that supports multiple AI providers, and AI agent creation and governance with defined permissions and full audit trails via AI Automate. Island for SMBs was described as requiring no mobile device management and no endpoint agents for BYOD and contractor onboarding, and it provides centralized management console capabilities including role-based access control, activity logging, and policy enforcement.
“SMB customers deserve the same level of protection that larger organizations have, without the complexity or the cost of stitching together a dozen different tools,” said Keith Weatherford, VP of Channels at Island. “Island solves that problem, and Pax8 is the premier partner to bring it to the MSP channel.” “Our MSP partners are looking for solutions that simplify how they deliver security and productivity for their SMB customers without adding operational complexity,” said Oguo Atuanya, Corporate VP of Vendor Experience at Pax8. “Island brings a unified approach that aligns well with that need, consolidating multiple capabilities into a single platform while supporting partner margin and growth.”
Island for SMBs became available in the Pax8 Marketplace today, with MSP partners able to start a full-featured 14-day trial for any customer directly from Pax8, and pricing set per user per month with a 25% partner margin on all SKUs.
