Infoblox Launches Managed Rules Solution for AWS Network Firewall
Infoblox launched its AWS Marketplace managed rules for AWS Network Firewall, aimed at enhancing cloud security through predictive DNS-based threat intelligence. This integration enables organizations to block malicious domains before they can affect workloads, reinforcing their security stance.
The Infoblox managed rules utilize curated rule groups powered by its Domain Name System (DNS) threat intelligence. This allows AWS Network Firewall to proactively identify and prevent connections to harmful domains, ensuring a layer of preemptive protection at the enterprise edge.
“Attackers are moving faster than ever, using automation and AI to bypass traditional security defenses and compromise cloud workloads,” said Mukesh Gupta, chief product officer at Infoblox. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) noted that DNS offers an effective means to enhance protective measures, enabling organizations to identify threats earlier than with alternative solutions and secure their cloud environments effectively.
Among the benefits of this solution is its native integration with AWS, allowing users to activate these rules directly from the AWS management console. This straightforward deployment minimizes manual configurations and accelerates the time to safeguard cloud operations.
Furthermore, the automated management of security rules translates into a significant reduction in the required overhead for security teams. Infoblox's solution is designed to provide actionable visibility with AWS-native alerts, confirming that blocking measures are functioning as intended and minimizing alert fatigue.
With more sophisticated attacks leveraging DNS to deliver threats, Infoblox aims to address these vulnerabilities through its managed rules, helping organizations maintain protection without increasing operational complexity. This offering is currently available in a Limited Preview version, with a full suite of threat intelligence signals expected soon.
According to the IBM Cost of a Data Breach Report 2024, the average cost of a breach exceeds $10 million for U.S. organizations. Infoblox’s integration with AWS is positioned as a preventive measure to help mitigate potential breaches and associated costs.
