Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. launches Global Smart Healthcare Showcase
At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and HM Hospitals held a joint event to launch the Global Smart Healthcare Showcase, an initiative presented as Huawei's first smart healthcare showcase in Europe and intended to explore the future of digital and intelligent healthcare.
The summit gathered leading global healthcare experts, academics, and industry partners to discuss the showcase and associated collaboration; the announcement described the launch as a milestone in the in-depth cooperation between the two organizations and said the parties pursued resource sharing and mutual benefits for the global construction of smart healthcare.
Presentations detailed upgrades to digital and intelligent infrastructure and the use of Huawei solutions named Medical Technology Digitalization and Smart Hospital Campus. Deployments in campus and ward management scenarios included 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) (Wi‑Fi 7), high-performance devices, and 2.5GE wired access to address low-latency and high-bandwidth clinical requirements, while CloudCampus and the CampusInsight platform were cited for intelligent network O&M.
On medical technology, the group strengthened its hospital information system (HIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) using a gateway-free, active-active, all-flash storage solution to support continuity of healthcare services, and it described a medical data lake built on scale-out storage with automatic tiering of large unstructured file sets to meet imaging and pathology needs and to provide a digital foundation for smart diagnosis and treatment.
Huawei said it would continue to work with global customers and partners to infuse intelligence into every hospital and co-author a new chapter of industry intelligence.
