Huawei, IEEE release Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper

MUNICH — At the Huawei Network Summit 2025, Huawei introduced the 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) Advanced Technology White Paper in collaboration with IEEE and industry partners. This document outlines advancements in Wi-Fi 7 Advanced, featuring 80 Megahertz (MHz) continuous multi-AP networking, integrated communication and sensing, and comprehensive security measures.

Edward Au, Technical Editor of IEEE Wi-Fi 7, stated, “Wi-Fi 7 Advanced enables APs to create campus networks that seamlessly integrate communication, sensing, and IoT. This enhances campus experience, strengthens security, and boosts digital productivity, making the entire campus more intelligent, secure, and efficient.”

The White Paper emphasizes three core advancements of Wi-Fi 7 Advanced. First, superfast connectivity enhances user experience by integrating intelligent Coordinated Scheduling and Spatial Reuse technology. This allows for large-scale 80 MHz networking with significantly increased data rates, providing a robust network for office environments.

Second, the technology supports the creation of intelligent spaces by integrating Wi-Fi, sensing, and Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities that assist in energy management and health monitoring. Third, it offers full-scope security solutions that protect data and privacy through AI-enhanced measures and continuous monitoring.

Shawn Zhao, President of the Campus Network Domain at Huawei, mentioned, “Powered by Wi-Fi 7 Advanced, Huawei Xinghe AI Campus pushes communication efficiency to new limits with 10 Gbps connectivity, driving intelligent upgrades across industries while ensuring security in both digital and physical realms.”
