Expel expands MDR coverage for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Expel announces expanded Managed Detection and Response (MDR) coverage for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), enhancing its cloud security offerings for multicloud organizations.

With this addition, Expel becomes the first MDR provider to support OCI environments, building on existing services for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. The company aims to mitigate security gaps typically faced by enterprises operating in multicloud settings.

“Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments are practically ubiquitous, but many enterprises struggle to effectively manage security across these platforms,” said Yonni Shelmerdine, Chief Product Officer at Expel. “We've added MDR support for OCI to ease that burden—addressing a critical cloud security need for many enterprises and lightening the load for increasingly over-taxed security teams.”

Expel's commitment to cloud security is further solidified by its membership in the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), which focuses on advancing standards and best practices for secure cloud computing. Jim Reavis, co-founder and CEO at CSA, noted the importance of strong cloud security for enterprises with multicloud strategies.

Expel's comprehensive cloud protection spans from the application layer to the control plane, and its recent inclusion in The Forrester Wave: MDR Services, Q1 2025, reflects its recognized position in the industry.

Expel aims to provide thorough visibility across attack surfaces to ensure faster threat detection and response.
