Digital Edge plans $4.5 billion CGK Campus in Bekasi
Digital Edge announced a US$4.5 billion investment to build the CGK Campus in the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi, Indonesia, and said the project would support digital transformation across Asia Pacific.
The company described the CGK Campus as a 500MW facility that represented its largest infrastructure commitment to date, with scalability up to 1GW and a stated role in Greater Jakarta's hyperscale and AI-ready capacity.
Digital Edge said the campus was engineered for Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads with sustainability and operational efficiency in focus; it targeted an annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25 and included direct-to-chip liquid cooling, recycled water systems, and renewable energy integration while remaining carrier-neutral.
The site was located less than 15 kilometers from other major data center clusters and about 40 kilometers from Digital Edge's downtown EDGE1 and EDGE2 facilities; Indonet, the company's wholly owned Indonesian telecommunications subsidiary, provided the fiber and network assets to underpin the campus.
“The CGK Campus is a pivotal milestone in our APAC strategy and our largest infrastructure investment to date,” said John Freeman, CEO of Digital Edge. “Our infrastructure provides the connectivity foundation for CGK Campus,” said Andy Rigoli, CEO of Indonet.
Digital Edge said the campus would be built in multiple phases, with phase one comprising three buildings and the first building scheduled for service by Q4 2026, the second in Q1 2027, and the third in Q2 2027.
