Digi International announces upgrades to Digi Navigator and Digi Connect EZ with PoE
Digi International announced enhancements to its serial device management solutions with the latest version of Digi Navigator and the introduction of Digi Connect EZ with Power over Ethernet (PoE). These updates intend to simplify deployment and management for IT teams overseeing both modern and legacy devices. The redesigned Digi Navigator offers faster setup and broader device compatibility. Key improvements include automatic device detection, enhanced security features, and a more intuitive backup and restore process. The platform aims to streamline management tasks, ultimately reducing the complexity associated with device configuration and maintenance. The Digi Connect EZ with PoE allows power and data to be transmitted over a single cable, reducing installation requirements, particularly in remote or hard-to-reach areas. The device supports dual Ethernet ports and multiple serial connections, facilitating greater flexibility and redundancy in network design while also being compatible with Digi's Long Term Evolution (LTE) modems for enhanced mobility. Digi International positions these advancements to help enterprises lower operational costs and improve their network infrastructures, with both products now available for deployment in various industries, including robotics and automation. Brian Kirkendall, Vice President and General Manager of Infrastructure Management at Digi International, emphasized the importance of customer feedback in developing solutions that enhance efficiency and connectivity. The update to Digi Navigator alongside the new connectivity device reflects Digi's ongoing commitment to enabling reliable communications for a wide range of applications while addressing the evolving needs of IT teams.
