Dell'Oro Group RAN report shows growth outside China
According to a report from Dell'Oro Group, Radio Access Network (RAN) revenues experienced growth for the third consecutive quarter outside of China in the second quarter of 2025. This growth follows two years of declines and indicates a stabilization in market conditions within the telecommunications industry.
Stefan Pongratz, Vice President of RAN market research at Dell'Oro Group, stated, “Our initial assessment confirms that the narrative we've been discussing for some time is now coming to fruition.” He noted that while growth has been recorded, broader market sentiment remains subdued. Pongratz emphasized that a rapid rebound is not expected and that the industry's long-term trajectory remains relatively flat.
Highlights from the report indicate that markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa nearly offset declines noted in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific region. The competitive landscape is shifting, with stronger vendors gaining more market share while other players struggle. In North America and China, Ericsson and Huawei accounted for over 60 percent of the market, making them the dominant suppliers. The report projects that the total RAN market will stabilize throughout 2025.
