Buoyant and Carahsoft Partner to Make Service Mesh for Kubernetes Available to the Public Sector

Buoyant and Carahsoft Technology Corp. announced a partnership to provide Buoyant Enterprise for Linkerd to the Public Sector. Under this agreement, Carahsoft will act as Buoyant’s Master Government Aggregator®, distributing the enterprise version of Linkerd via its reseller partners and government contracts including NASA SEWP V and NASPO ValuePoint.

William Morgan, CEO of Buoyant, noted that modernizing government IT requires a foundation for security and reliability, which Linkerd offers for Kubernetes environments. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Carahsoft to assist government agencies in building secure applications for critical infrastructure.

Buoyant Enterprise for Linkerd delivers a hardened version of the open-source service mesh, designed for enterprise use. It adheres to Zero-Trust principles and integrates mTLS with Post Quantum Encryption (PQE) for enhanced security, while reducing costs associated with application load balancing and cross-zone network expenses. It also satisfies stringent security requirements through validated encryption.

Natalie Gregory, Vice President for Open Source and DevSecOps Solutions at Carahsoft, emphasized the importance of simplifying service-to-service communication management. Buoyant Enterprise for Linkerd centralizes and automates this process, improving security and operational visibility.

This service is accessible through multiple government contracts including SEWP V and ITES-SW2, enabling streamlined access for various public sector entities.
