BT confirmed it joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, which brings together critical infrastructure providers to help secure data and systems. The move centers on adding access to Anthropic tooling for vulnerability identification that is intended to support secure, resilient operations.
Project Glasswing is described as a collaboration for critical infrastructure providers, focused on securing systems that underpin services used by millions of people. BT said the participation relates to its role in securing UK critical national infrastructure and to cyber security for its networks and customers.
BT said Project Glasswing supports use of Anthropic’s safe AI systems to identify vulnerabilities and help fix them before criminals can take advantage. The company also cited access to Claude Mythos Preview, and linked that access to strengthening protection against cyber security threats. BT’s announcement included that it prevents four million cyber-attacks across its networks every day.
BT’s confirmation of membership followed its remarks at the UK Government’s ‘AI Adoption Summit’, which included UK Government officials and ministers. BT’s Chief Executive, Allison Kirkby, opened the event and discussed connectivity’s role in supporting secure networks. Jon James, Chief Executive Officer, BT Business, said, “AI is changing cyber security fast, and businesses need trusted partners who can help them stay one step ahead. By joining Project Glasswing, BT will strengthen its own cyber security capability to protect our networks, our customers and the wider UK.”
BT said it provides AI-powered cybersecurity solutions and referenced new products for small businesses, along with a recent collaboration with Accenture to develop advanced AI-powered cyber operations.
