Black Duck said Black Duck Signal became available as an MCP server in the Claude Directory, providing vulnerability scanning within Claude Desktop. The update targets the way AI-assisted development workflows handle security analysis while developers work in the same environment.
Black Duck Signal was described as an AI-powered security analysis engine that embeds vulnerability scanning at the point of code generation and review. Black Duck said scanned source content is sent to a remote analysis endpoint for processing, with results exposed as MCP resources for Claude to use.
Black Duck said Signal works through Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration and connects directly to Claude Desktop. It allows users to scan git changes, individual files, or entire projects. After a scan is complete, Black Duck said the MCP resources provide structured context that Claude uses to reason about findings, explain risk, and help prioritize remediation issues in natural language.
