Aviz Network Copilot R1.6.0 – Enhanced UI, Data Connectors, and Analytics

The NCP R1.6.0 improves the NetOps by introducing a more user-friendly UI-based onboarding of agents, enhanced analytics capabilities, Offline Log Analysis, BigQuery integration, and Forward Data Connector.

What's New in Aviz Network Copilot R1.6.0?

Some of the new features that are introduced in this version include the UI-based onboarding of agents, enhanced analytics capabilities of the dashboard, Offline Log Analysis, BigQuery integration, full regression/SIT validation, and Forward Data Connector.

Agent Onboarding

R1.6.0 introduces a fully UI-driven, end-to-end onboarding experience for user-created SDK agents, significantly simplifying how agents are integrated into the NCP server. This new workflow eliminates the dependency on traditional CLI-based uploads, reducing complexity and improving overall efficiency.

Onboarding has been carefully planned and there are distinct processes for admins and users separately to provide control, role-based access, and user-friendliness to both types of users. The shift from command line interface (CLI) to intuitive user interface (UI) has made the onboarding process easy and faster for agents.

The Agent Management page lists all the necessary information about the agents, which include name, description, version, status, date of upload, and the user who uploaded it. All the tasks that can be performed on this page by administrators can also be performed by non-administrators, including viewing agents' information, deleting agents, and providing feedback.

Dashboard Analytics

The Dashboard is essentially a centralized place that brings together all the metrics and operations of the platform, presenting the user with the critical information regarding the utilization of the platform and its functioning. The Dashboard displays critical metrics related to the users, projects, communications, LLMs, SDK agents, devices, and data connectors, offering visibility into the platform's operations. The improved visualizations and analytical capabilities will allow you to monitor platform performance and obtain valuable insights into platform operations.

Offline Log Analysis enhancement

In addition to what was previously available, R1.6.0 offers functionality that allows for configuration download, inventory management, device discovery, interface analysis, protocol analysis, and security and compliance audits. In addition, it also comes with a generic agent that enables file analysis and interaction within NCP, thereby providing more flexibility while dealing with various types of data. This version of the software also supports validation for Offline Logs.

BigQuery Integration

This allows the NCP to connect to Google BigQuery datasets in order to perform network analytics on large datasets. This is configured via the Data Connector UI and requires a name for the connector along with a JSON key for authentication purposes. It allows you to perform queries and analytics on very large datasets within the NCP environment.

Forward Data Connector

As part of R1.6.0, our focus will be on performing some targeted checks including validation of the Data Connector onboarding via the UI, ensuring that the Forward DC is functioning properly, monitoring life cycle events like activation, deactivation, and removal of data connectors, and monitoring health of the Data Connector Dashboard.

NCP Deployment through OVA/OVF

To validate the usage of NCP materials using OVA/OVF packages rather than an ordinary Ubuntu server setup, we have done testing. This approach enables us to speed up, standardize, and simplify the installation process. Having installed the package, we performed post-deploy verification. Namely, we connected the ONES data connector and tested the response prompt for this connection to confirm proper performance, data flow, and expected behavior. It has been found that OVA/OVF deployment is completely compatible with all our existing integrations and works equally to the server deployment.

Conclusion

NCP R1.6.0 has finally made it to the validation scope and passed all acceptance criteria for reliability, functionality, and security. The new version comes with UI-based agent provisioning with role-dependent workflows, improved dashboard with valuable insights, and better compatibility with large-scale data connectors such as ELK, Splunk, and BigQuery, providing sub-2-minute response time for prompts related to flow records. In addition to that, there are improvements in Forward Data Connector, Offline Log Analysis, and generic agents for analysis of uploaded files. No critical vulnerabilities have been found by Snyk checks.
