Aspire launches international payments in Hong Kong

Aspire launched fast, low-cost international payments in Hong Kong as part of an initiative to extend its connected financial ecosystem for customers.

The company built this extension on an existing relationship with What-If Scenario Engine (WISE) Platform that began in Singapore in 2019 and said the move followed its entry into Hong Kong in 2024, during which it recorded 3x growth driven by startups and SMEs; the new payments feature is now live for all Aspire customers in Hong Kong.

The integration used WISE Platform's global payment infrastructure and local rails and enabled transfers in more than 40 currencies, routing to destinations that included Singapore, the United States, Australia, Japan and Korea from within the Aspire interface.

Aspire extended its cross-border payments experience to Hong Kong customers so that transfers, cards, payments and expense management operated through the same account and interface, and the functionality was made available directly through the Aspire platform.

“Cross-border payments are the backbone of global commerce, and for businesses in Hong Kong, speed and cost efficiency can make all the difference,” said Andrea Baronchelli, CEO and Co-founder of Aspire. “In a major hub, like Hong Kong, where companies operate across borders every day, offering a best in class cross-border experience is essential and a key requirement for any business looking for a financial partner,” said Samarth Bansal, APAC General Manager, WISE Platform.

Aspire said the expansion was a step toward its vision of building the most connected financial Operating System (OS) for modern businesses.
