Wowza demonstrates edge-powered streaming on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano at IBC 2025

Wowza Streaming Platform has demonstrated AI-powered object detection through its Streaming Engine running on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano. The live demonstrations took place at IBC 2025, showcasing real-time capabilities for automated alerts and visual insights.

At Hall 5, Stand 5.F81, Wowza displayed how its technology analyzes multiple HD video feeds in real-time, establishing that advanced video intelligence can operate efficiently in air-gapped or private network settings. This capability supports scalability to larger Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) platforms suitable for data center workloads.

The demonstrations also featured on-device captioning and translation, which generates captions and translations instantly without requiring cloud services. This functionality is designed to enhance accessibility while maintaining privacy.

Additionally, the latest version of the Wowza Streaming Engine has been optimized for ARM architecture, notably the Jetson Orin Nano, which has shown to enhance performance and reduce infrastructure costs by up to 30 percent. Michael Phillippi, CTO at Wowza, emphasized that the compact device allows organizations to deploy streaming solutions flexibly across various infrastructures, ensuring optimized performance and scalability.
