Rigetti Computing collaborates with NVIDIA to support NVQLink platform
Rigetti Computing, Intelligent Network Controller (INC). announced its collaboration with NVIDIA to support NVQLink, NVIDIA’s open platform for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) supercomputing with quantum computing systems. This partnership took place during NVIDIA GTC in Washington, D.C., where Rigetti showcased a full-scale demonstration of its quantum computer.
The integration of quantum and classical computing systems is considered essential for achieving utility-scale quantum computing. Rigetti’s superconducting qubit processors are compatible with hybrid systems, offering fast gate speeds and scalability.
“Rigetti is proud to work with NVIDIA in support of the rapidly evolving quantum ecosystem,” said Subodh Kulkarni, Rigetti’s CEO. “By providing low latency and high throughput of quantum hardware and AI supercomputing, NVQLink is a very promising resource to accelerate hybrid computation development as we work towards quantum advantage.”
NVQLink connects quantum processors with NVIDIA AI supercomputers, facilitating low-latency and high-throughput communication between CPUs, GPUs, and quantum processing units (QPUs). Tim Costa, General Manager for Quantum at NVIDIA, noted that this approach enhances the development of hybrid quantum-classical applications and advanced quantum supercomputers.
This initiative builds on earlier efforts between Rigetti and NVIDIA using AI tools to improve quantum computing operations, demonstrating the potential of AI to streamline the calibration of quantum processing units, which is crucial for precise quantum computation.
