Nokia partners with Netplus to enhance IPTV services in India
Nokia partnered with Netplus to deploy the latest 400G routing technology and a software-defined access network (SDAN) platform, enhancing high-speed broadband and IPTV services in Punjab and other cities across India.
This deployment allows Netplus to provide improved services to nearly two million users, emphasizing energy efficiency and scalability for future demands in business and education.
The system transition supports a move from traditional TV to on-demand IPTV services and accommodates high-bandwidth applications such as e-commerce and online education. The collaboration integrates Nokia's 7250 Interconnect Routers for broadband aggregation and the 7750 Service Router for broadband network gateway functions, alongside a next-generation SDAN-based architecture. This architecture aims to enhance service performance and streamline network management.
“Consumers today want access to high-speed IPTV across multiple devices and locations,” said Arshdeep Singh Mundi, Executive Director at Netplus. He noted that the deployment ensures improved customer experience and flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
Jivitesh Nayal, Head of Emerging Business for Network Infrastructure at Nokia India, stated that working with Netplus lays the groundwork for advanced broadband experiences, enabling reliable network performance while reducing operational costs.
