Nokia extends partnership with TNN for 5G RAN in Denmark

Nokia signed a four-year agreement with TNN to remain the sole supplier of 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) and managed services in Denmark. This partnership aims to upgrade TNN’s 5G infrastructure with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation to enhance service quality, capacity, and user experience.

The agreement allows Nokia to deploy its energy-efficient AirScale RAN portfolio, benefiting over three million subscribers. Nokia will provide advanced Habrok Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radios and Pandion remote radio heads, enhancing network coverage in various scenarios.

Nokia’s approach includes AI-driven solutions for network management, specifically its MantaRay SON technology. This self-organizing networks solution is complemented by MantaRay AutoPilot for real-time optimization, improving operational efficiency. The investment supports TNN in upgrading its network for better connectivity and digital service opportunities.

Daniel Askeroth, SVP Telco at Norlys, emphasized the focus on delivering high-quality networks, while Louise Haurum, CTO of Telenor Denmark, highlighted the partnership’s role in enhancing connectivity and digital experiences. Mark Atkinson, Head of RAN at Nokia, noted the collaboration’s contribution to expanding 5G services for TNN's customers.
