Mimecast Introduces AI Enhancements for Cybersecurity at Elevate25

Mimecast, a global cybersecurity firm, presented new Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities at its user conference, Elevate25, focused on managing human risk. The introduction of the Mihra AI agent bolstered threat response times by up to seven times for users of the Human Risk Command Center. This development comes as part of Mimecast's strategy to combat a growing number of AI-powered cyber threats.

The company’s recently published 2025 Global Threat Intelligence Report indicated that human attack vectors are escalating, largely due to AI, with phishing now accounting for 77% of all attacks. Mimecast aims to improve security at the human layer, emphasizing protection generated by, from, and for AI.

Mimecast’s platform integrates AI, automation, and user-friendly interfaces designed to meet the demands of contemporary enterprises. By 2027, it is projected that 50% of large enterprise Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) will implement human-centric security designs, according to Gartner. Mimecast is positioning itself to facilitate increased visibility and threat detection to meet this trend.

Ranjan Singh, Mimecast’s Chief Product & Technology Officer, noted, “Security teams are drowning in alerts while employees unknowingly create new vulnerabilities through shadow AI. Our Mimecast AI agents turn hours of investigation into minutes, while simultaneously blocking employees from pasting confidential data into unauthorized GenAI tools.”

The Mimecast system offers three main functions to enhance security: protection generated by AI, protection from AI-generated threats, and support for AI use within organizations.

Mimecast AI analyzes data from over 18 billion security events daily, aiding in threat prediction and prevention tailored to individual organizational behavior. The Mihra AI agent brings advanced automation to many protective and compliance applications, displaying improved threat response times based on user feedback.

The platform is engineered to detect and thwart sophisticated AI-generated attacks designed to imitate internal communication, enhancing defenses against account compromise and multi-vector attacks across email and collaboration suites.

Mimecast's integrated platform offers a unified search capability, allowing security teams to investigate threats spanning various applications, including Microsoft 365 and Slack, from a single interface.

These AI capabilities were showcased at the Elevate25 conference and will be available to customers in Q4 2025.
