Kong Inc. unveils KAi, an AI co-pilot for Kong Konnect

Kong Inc. unveiled KAi, a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) co-pilot for its Kong Konnect platform, during the Application Programming Interface (API) Summit 2025. This tool automates key tasks within the API lifecycle, improving developer efficiency and governance. KAi aims to assist enterprises in accelerating their AI initiatives while addressing challenges related to security and cost management.

As businesses increasingly use APIs to support AI projects, they experience pressure to deliver more quickly and efficiently. KAi offers support throughout the API lifecycle, including debugging, remediation, and speeding up API design and development, thereby improving the overall Developer Experience (DevEx).

“Enterprises are under immense pressure to innovate with AI while keeping their systems secure, compliant, and cost efficient,” said Reza Shafii, Senior Vice President of Product, Kong Inc. “Now, KAi gives platform teams a practical way to meet that challenge.” The integration of KAi into Kong Konnect enables users to enhance API and AI-driven projects more swiftly while maintaining governance standards.

KAi provides several features designed to streamline API management, including automated governance that scans for policy violations and suggests remediation. In addition, it facilitates advanced debugging by analyzing traffic and identifying issues, which helps to decrease troubleshooting duration. Furthermore, KAi offers real-time feedback on API design, allowing developers to adhere to best practices more effectively.

The Kong Konnect platform serves as a unified environment for managing APIs and AI integrations. It enables enterprises to build, run, discover, and govern APIs, large language models, event streams, and microservices in a secure and efficient manner. Organizations can leverage this platform to enhance their operational efficiency and preparedness for future technological demands.
