CompTIA partners with SGInnovate on Singapore upskilling program
CompTIA and SGInnovate signed a memorandum of understanding to deliver coordinated upskilling programs for Singapore's deep tech talent community, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity workforce needs.
Under the agreement, CompTIA provided its portfolio of vendor-neutral certifications and learning solutions while SGInnovate used its ecosystem to link participants to training and to career opportunities with startups and local enterprises, intending to improve workforce competitiveness.
The partners described CyberReady+ as a three-stage bootcamp composed of Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced workshops that covered basic networking concepts, security controls and network defence; analyst workflows including threat intelligence, vulnerability triage and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) fundamentals; and AI-related topics such as threat hunting, Security Orchestration Automation Response (SOAR) and securing AI-integrated systems. CompTIA also introduced SecAI+, a certification focused on securing, governing and responsibly integrating AI into cybersecurity operations.
The companies said the bootcamp sequence targeted participants with non-technical to basic cybersecurity knowledge to build practical capabilities ahead of formal certification, and that CompTIA would supply its certifications while SGInnovate would centralise the learning pathway and connection to jobs via its platforms.
“As AI-powered cyber-attacks increase, and AI and cybersecurity become increasingly critical to Singapore's innovation economy, developing talent in these areas is a national priority,” said Juliana Lim, Executive Director - People, SGInnovate. “Classroom learning, on-the-job training and professional certifications are the foundations of a highly skilled technology workforce,” said Peter Schalkwijk, Vice President, APAC, CompTIA.
