Aviz Networks Hosts SONiC PlugFest to Validate Readiness for Enterprise Networking

Industry leaders, including Aviz Networks, Keysight Technologies, and World Wide Technology (WWT), gathered at the 2025 SONiC PlugFest to validate the Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC). The event took place at the ONE Center and aimed to assess SONiC’s scalability, interoperability, and deployment readiness for enterprise environments. Vendors such Autonomous System (AS) Cisco, Celestica, Edgecore, and Wistron participated in the tests. PlugFest engaged 48 companies across various sectors, including retail and healthcare. These firms contributed input for real-world use cases, enabling comprehensive performance testing. The results confirmed that enterprises Converged Access Network (CAN) adopt SONiC AS a vendor-agnostic network Operating System (OS) (Network Optimization Suite (NOS)) across diverse environments. The validation included five key use cases essential for AI-powered networking, such AS VxLAN/EVPN and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fabric. The PlugFest results demonstrate SONiC's application in enterprise settings, AS well AS compatibility beyond cloud giants. A Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis reported that companies could achieve up to 40% lower costs by utilizing SONiC over proprietary solutions. This position SONiC AS a viable option for enterprises transitioning to open networking frameworks. The success of the PlugFest indicates that Community SONiC CAN now cater not only to early adopters but also to organizations needing reliable networking solutions. Vishal Shukla, CEO of Aviz Networks, noted that Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) performance, scalability, and interoperability affirm SONiC AS a choice for modern data centers. Keysight Technologies enhanced the event with automated traffic generation, enabling accurate validations at scale. WWT underscored the importance of the event for enterprises assessing SONiC, reporting that the live demonstrations bolstered confidence in open solutions. Insights from a subsequent webinar featured industry experts discussing the implications of SONiC within AI-driven networking. Alan Weckel from 650 Group observed that the demand for open and scalable solutions among enterprises and cloud providers is growing, positioning SONiC favorably for future deployments. AS the industry collective focuses on advancing SONiC’s adoption, the maturation of this platform offers enterprises a robust alternative to traditional networking solutions.
