Aviz Networks extends ONES support for NVIDIA Spectrum-X to aid AI network operations

Aviz Networks has updated its Open Networking Enterprise Suite (ONES) to support NVIDIA Spectrum-X, integrating capabilities designed to assist with Artificial Intelligence (AI) network operations.

The collaboration between Aviz and NVIDIA targets operational management for AI fabric networks, emphasizing streamlined lifecycle processes from initial planning through deployment to ongoing operations. This integration aims to automate network provisioning and deliver detailed telemetry specific to Spectrum-X's congestion control systems.

Technically, Aviz ONES facilitates the management of lossless network fabrics essential to maintaining Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) utilization during AI tasks. The telemetry features provide data that contribute to managing congestion and ensuring the network supports consistent performance levels for GPU workloads.

The work involved includes enabling ONES to provision networks that support NVIDIA Spectrum-X's hardware components, including the BlueField-3 SuperNICs, aligning network performance with the demands of AI processing frameworks.

Thomas Scheibe, chief product officer at Aviz Networks, said, “AI workloads demand lossless, high-performance networking at scale, and our collaboration with NVIDIA enables enterprises to plan, deploy and monitor AI-ready fabrics with unparalleled efficiency.” Gilad Shainer, senior vice president of networking at NVIDIA, said, “The NVIDIA Spectrum-X networking platform enables innovators like Aviz to provide an Ethernet-based multi-tenant AI networking solution that maximizes GPU performance while simplifying operations for enterprises.”

This integration between Aviz ONES and NVIDIA Spectrum-X was scheduled to be demonstrated at the NVIDIA GTC event, highlighting the partnership's focus on AI networking readiness and network operations optimization.
