11:11 Systems and Oklahoma Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Tested Hot Site Recovery in Under an Hour
11:11 Systems worked with Oklahoma Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance (OKFB) on a disaster recovery case study focused on keeping critical claims and policy and check-processing capabilities available during severe weather events and other disruptions. The effort centered on disaster recovery readiness for a state-wide organization with offices across all 77 counties.
The case study describes OKFB’s need for a strategy that maintained capabilities during severe weather and validated recovery of critical systems in just under an hour. OKFB’s operations include a statewide network of local agents serving more than 140,000 member families, and its offices cover all 77 Oklahoma counties.
OKFB implemented 11:11 Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) for Zerto, 11:11 Managed Recovery, and 11:11 Managed Connectivity for AWS Direct Connect. The combined approach moved OKFB beyond basic replication to a functional hot site strategy with regular testing, clearer recovery expectations, and expert support for recovery and connectivity needs.
The case study also states that the partnership enabled OKFB to validate a recovery process that exceeded an original eight-hour goal and to strengthen business continuity planning through regular testing and clearer recovery expectations. It also describes recovery confidence if local connectivity or infrastructure were disrupted and the use of a direct, secure connectivity model to AWS. Lydia Kulman, Director of Information Systems, OKFB, said, “When I joined OKFB, our executive leadership asked to see a disaster recovery plan (DRP). They wanted assurance that we were testing regularly, running comprehensive audits and that we knew exactly what we would do in case of a disaster,” said Lydia Kulman, Director of Information Systems, OKFB. “With 11:11 Systems, I can confidently guarantee those things and more.”
