Teleport introduces Agentic Identity Framework

Teleport introduced the Agentic Identity Framework to offer organizations a structured roadmap for securing agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) deployments, a development presented as a response to mounting operational and security concerns as AI agents moved into production.

Teleport positioned the framework as a response to what it described as a widening gap between the urgency to deploy AI agents and the need for systems resilience. A recent Teleport survey found that 69% of infrastructure leaders said widespread AI adoption would require changes to identity management, while only 2% disagreed.

The company described agentic AI as creating identity challenges because agents invoke tools, access sensitive data, delegate tasks, and operate across environments often without direct human involvement. Teleport said its Infrastructure Identity Platform established a unified identity layer secured cryptographically with a Hardware Root of Trust (HRoT) and that it replaced static credentials with strong, ephemeral identities to support zero-trust access, eliminate standing privileges, and provide real-time visibility into identity behavior.

According to Teleport, the Agentic Identity Framework defined the policies, practices, developer tools, and a reference architecture required to operate autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents as trusted identities across modern infrastructure, and to reduce the risk of data compromise, misuse, and external adversarial threats. Teleport also published the framework components and a blog by Electric Vehicle (EV) Kontsevoy outlining his vision for securing AI in infrastructure.

“A unified identity layer is a prerequisite to deploying AI within enterprise infrastructure environments,” said EV Kontsevoy, co-founder and CEO of Teleport.

Teleport said the framework would evolve alongside the industry and the needs of the community.
