NVIDIA commits to build 6G on AI-native open platforms
NVIDIA said it would work with Booz Allen, BT Group, Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson, MITRE, Nokia, the OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation, ODC, SK Telecom, SoftBank Corp. and T‑Mobile to develop next‑generation wireless networks on AI‑native, open, secure and trustworthy platforms.
The organizations described plans to ensure 6G infrastructure was open, intelligent and resilient and to safeguard global trust.
The group outlined AI‑native, software‑defined wireless platforms as the target architecture, stating Artificial Intelligence (AI) would be embedded across the Radio Access Network (RAN), edge and core to enable secure integrated sensing and communications as well as intelligence and decision‑making while supporting interoperability and supply‑chain resilience.
Work cited by the companies included NVIDIA joining the FutureG Office‑led OCUDU Initiative in the United States, participating as a founding member of the AI‑RAN Alliance with more than 130 participating companies, launching the AI‑Native Wireless Networks (AI‑WIN) project with Booz Allen, Cisco, T‑Mobile, MITRE and ODC, and collaborations reported in Korea, the U.K., Europe and Japan.
“AI is redefining computing and driving the largest infrastructure buildout in human history — and telecommunications is next,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.
Certain statements in the press release were described as forward‑looking and subject to risks and uncertainties.
