Mplify partners with GSMA to enhance connectivity

Mplify’s Network as a Service (Network as a Service (NaaS)) and Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) APIs align with GSMA Open Gateway to boost on-demand connectivity across wired and wireless domains.

Mplify, a global alliance of network and cloud organizations, announced its integration with the GSMA Open Gateway ecosystem through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The initiative focuses on enhancing connectivity capabilities within the mobile industry, collaborating with the GSMA, Linux Foundation, and TM Forum.

This partnership aims to foster cross-domain integration across wireless and wireline environments. Mplify’s LSO APIs will work alongside the GSMA Open Gateway's CAMARA APIs, enhancing end-to-end connectivity and contributing to the formation of open network ecosystems designed for AI-driven applications.

Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at GSMA, emphasized the significance of Mplify’s involvement in the Open Gateway framework for creating a cohesive ecosystem built on common network APIs. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) stated that alignment of both fixed and mobile networks is crucial for maximizing digital transformation for enterprises.

Mplify’s LSO APIs, operating across wired and cloud networks, complement mobile operators' CAMARA APIs. These developments allow for innovative use cases, such as real-time network performance adjustments based on application demands, autonomous optimization of computing and connectivity, and service assurance across various providers.

Pascal Menezes, CTO at Mplify, highlighted the goal of creating a seamless network experience which integrates automation and assurance across environments. HE noted that recent demonstrations at Mobile World Congress (MWC) showcased how applications can dynamically adjust network performance via APIs.

The next steps in this collaboration will be presented at Mplify’s Global Network as a Service (NaaS) Event in Dallas, including demonstrations of agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) that will illustrate real-time network intelligence. Henry Calvert will present a keynote on the future of Open Gateway and its impact on global network APIs.

The GSMA Open Gateway now includes over 80 mobile operator groups globally, facilitating the design of interoperable digital products across various networks. This initiative represents a broader industry effort toward autonomous connectivity, linking wired, wireless, and cloud environments.
