Humanix secures $18 million for cyber defense

Humanix secured $18 million in Seed and Series A funding to enhance its platform against social engineering attacks. This funding, led by Acrew Capital, aims to bolster protection for enterprises's human elements, particularly those involved in customer-facing operations.

Humanix addresses the growing threat of social engineering by providing real-time detection and response to attacks that exploit human interactions. With significant losses reported due to help desk breaches, the need for effective defense measures has become pressing.

Keith Stewart, CEO and founder of Humanix, stated, “Our goal is to protect people, not punish them, by turning every employee into a secure part of the system rather than a potential vulnerability.” The platform employs advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and natural language analysis to identify manipulation tactics, ensuring that communications within help and service desks remain secure.

The funding will support Humanix’s efforts to refine its systems further, which already serve clients in finance and hospitality. The company's approach emphasizes a shift in cybersecurity practices by focusing on the human layer rather than solely on technological defenses.

Investors see potential in Humanix’s unique offering. Asad Khaliq of Acrew Capital remarked on the platform’s capability to provide visibility over actual cyber threats rather than hypothetical scenarios. This aligns with a broader trend of enhancing cybersecurity strategies by making the human factor a primary focus.
