Eclipse Foundation to exhibit at embedded world 2026

The Eclipse Foundation said it would exhibit at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg to highlight the accelerating role of open source in embedded systems and Internet of Things (IoT) development and to present related projects at Booth 4-554.

The organization said it planned to showcase a portfolio covering industrial IoT, automotive software, edge Artificial Intelligence (AI), real-time operating systems, and regulatory alignment for software development, and that members Eurotech and Codethink would join the Foundation at the booth.

Technical items identified for display included work with the OpenHW Foundation and Eclipse ThreadX on silicon, processor architectures, and real-time operating systems; AI-enabled development tools such as trusted open source Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and extensible platforms; the Software Defined Vehicle initiative; and the Open Regulatory Compliance (ORC) community effort focused on Cyber Resilience Act readiness and evolving regulatory requirements. Eurotech planned to present an Enterprise-Grade Edge AIoT offering for industrial deployments, and Codethink planned to present its Trust Evidence initiative for software assurance and trustworthiness in safety- and security-critical systems.

Planned activities extended beyond the exhibition: the Foundation said representatives from the OpenHW Foundation, Eclipse ThreadX, the Software Defined Vehicle initiative, and Eclipse IoT Working Group member Eurotech would be available at Booth 4-554 to demonstrate technologies and discuss the findings of a new report. The Foundation also said it had developed a 2025 IoT and Embedded Developer Survey Report in collaboration with the Eclipse IoT, Sparkplug, and Oniro Working Groups, the Eclipse ThreadX project, the Software Defined Vehicle initiative, and the OpenHW Foundation, and that the report examined regulatory complexity, supply chain disruptions, developer technology preferences, and open source roles in security, compliance, and digital sovereignty.

“Open source is driving the next generation of embedded and IoT innovation,” said Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation. “We’re excited to join the Eclipse Foundation booth at Embedded World 2026,” said Robert Andres, Head of Partner Ecosystem at Eurotech. “Embedded systems don’t just need code that runs, they need software you can prove,” said John Ellis, President & Head of Product at Codethink.

The Eclipse Foundation said it would release the 2025 IoT and Embedded Developer Survey Report at the event and would participate in the embedded world conference program, including moderated sessions on March 10 led by Frédéric Desbiens.
