Comcast invests $19 million in Bossier City to expand Internet access and community support.
Comcast announced a $19 million investment in Bossier City aimed at enhancing Internet infrastructure and reinforcing its commitment to the community. This initiative aims to foster connections and provide residents with reliable access to digital services. Services will begin rolling out in select neighborhoods this year, with full infrastructure expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The company designed Internet packages to address diverse household needs, featuring an entry-level plan starting at $14.95/month. This pricing strategy includes a five-year price guarantee, ensuring affordability for families throughout Bossier City.
“We’re committed to supporting the people who make Bossier City special,” said Mike McArdle, Comcast Regional Senior Vice President. Comcast engaged with the community by sponsoring local events, including illuminating the Bakowski Bridge in purple and participating in the Red River Balloon Rally with interactive activities.
Comcast partnered with the African American Celebration Corporation to host a free haircut giveaway for veterans, showcasing its digital access initiatives like Lift Zones, which provide free WiFi in community centers. “Comcast is proud to be part of Bossier City’s growth,” said Ronnie Colvin, Senior Director of External Affairs.
In Shreveport, Comcast employees participated in a volunteer event, preparing 200 backpacks with school supplies for a local Back-to-School drive. These initiatives highlight Comcast’s ongoing commitment to community support.
This investment underpins Comcast's objectives in the digital Edge Resource Allocator (ERA), with a network capable of delivering multi-gigabit speeds and maximizing reliability. Comcast continues to serve vital sectors, including hospitals and schools in Bossier City and nearby areas.
