Keysight Launches Comprehensive Solution for Accurate and Seamless Photonic Circuit Design
Keysight Technologies has introduced Photonic Designer, a photonic design automation software designed to enhance the workflows of photonic design engineers. The new tool integrates real-world measurement data into the design process, addressing common issues of workflow fragmentation and simulation inaccuracies.
Photonic Designer offers a comprehensive, Physics-Based Simulation (PBS) environment. This allows engineers to efficiently transition from concept to manufacturing while maintaining design compliance and improving accuracy. Key features include optimization of photonic models in line with foundry processes and automation of design verification, ultimately reducing time to market.
The software is also equipped to handle both optical and electrical-optical-electrical workflows, providing an intuitive interface for circuit design and layout generation. This functionality is expected to streamline the design process significantly.
CompoundTek has partnered with Keysight to provide a Photonic Designer Process Design Kit (PDK) for silicon photonics. This collaboration aims to support engineers in developing photonic integrated circuits (PICs) that meet manufacturing standards, ensuring a smoother transition from design to fabrication.
