Citrix collaborates with NVIDIA to launch AI virtual workstations
Citrix has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to launch Artificial Intelligence (AI) virtual workstations using NVIDIA Virtual Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) (vGPU) technology. This initiative aims to assist enterprises in developing and prototyping AI applications more securely and cost-effectively.
Developing AI applications often involves considerable expense and time, particularly in sectors like healthcare and finance. The new partnership enables enterprises to utilize Citrix DaaS alongside NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation capabilities. This integration allows businesses to securely create and deliver proofs of concept and applications without compromising existing infrastructures.
“Many enterprises are prototyping dozens of AI applications, yet concerns about data security and cost are keeping them from finishing POCs and moving them into production,” said Sridhar Mullapudi, co-president at Citrix. “Thousands of Citrix customers already run DaaS/CVAD on servers with NVIDIA GPUs, and this partnership allows them to leverage their existing Citrix environments.”
With this collaboration, customers can expect several benefits, including enhanced data protection against leaks, more efficient development and prototyping measures by utilizing existing GPUs, and secure access to applications through Citrix platforms.
Bob Pette, vice president of Enterprise Platforms at NVIDIA, stated, “Pairing Citrix DaaS with NVIDIA AI Virtual Workstation allows enterprises to develop AI applications within their existing infrastructure.”
This partnership supports IT in delivering AI projects at reduced costs and aims to improve security and productivity for businesses.
Citrix DaaS allows organizations to manage virtual machines and applications, providing secure remote access for users across various devices without requiring extensive installation efforts. This model ensures that IT retains control while enhancing user experience.
