Silicom secures $2M annual Design Win for FPGA Smart Card solution
Silicom Ltd. announced it received a Design Win for its advanced Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Smart Card technology from an application delivery leader. This customer will integrate Silicom’s card for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) hardware acceleration and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) encryption offload, enhancing server resource efficiency and simplifying secure connection management.
Revenue linked to this Design Win is projected to reach $2 million annually at full ramp-up, which is set to occur throughout 2026. The ongoing discussions suggest potential collaboration on a next-generation Silicom platform, which may allow for larger-scale applications.
The selection of Silicom stems from its FPGA-based Smart Card capabilities and its established credibility as a technology partner among prominent industry players. Liron Eizenman, Silicom's CEO, stated, “The fact that this global technology giant relies on our products to sharpen its performance edge is a vote of confidence that resonates with other industry leaders.” Eizenman noted that the card’s ability to process significant network traffic in real-time stands out amid growing demands for SSL acceleration solutions.
Silicom recognizes an uptick in market interest from clients seeking quantum-resistant solutions due to increasing threats from quantum computing and regulatory changes. Eizenman highlighted, “This is the second technology giant that has selected our PQC-ready FPGA smart card in just the last few months.” With evolving cybersecurity requirements, the firm anticipates further engagement from prospective customers.
