Nokia announces leadership changes within Group Leadership Team

Nokia Corporation made announcements regarding modifications to its Group Leadership Team. Federico Guillén will retire on December 31, 2025, and will relinquish his duties as President of the Network Infrastructure business group and as a member of the Group Leadership Team on June 30, 2025.

In a structured transition, David Heard, the current Chief Strategic Growth Officer of Network Infrastructure and former CEO of Infinera, has been named President of Network Infrastructure, effective July 1, 2025. He will report to Nokia’s President and CEO, Justin Hotard, and operate from Dallas. Guillén and Heard will collaborate to ensure a smooth transition.

Heard joined Nokia following the acquisition of Infinera in February 2025. His past experience includes serving as CEO of Infinera and holding various senior-level positions in technology companies such as JDSU, BigBand Networks, Somera Communications, Lucent, and AT&T, providing him with rounded expertise in the telecom sector.

“I want to thank Federico for his exceptional leadership and contribution to Nokia. As the first President of Network Infrastructure, he has been instrumental in building a high-performing business with a strong customer focus,” said Justin Hotard. He noted Guillén’s impact during critical portfolio changes, including the acquisition of Infinera.

Hotard expressed confidence in Heard, stating, “David has a proven track record of scaling businesses and driving innovation,” while noting his understanding of hyperscalers and AI-optimized solutions. Hanrahan now joins the Group Leadership Team as Chief of Staff to the President and CEO, where she will drive strategic initiatives and ensure organizational alignment across the leadership team.
