General Dynamics awarded $1.25B task order for U.S. Army Europe and Africa

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) received a $1.25 billion task order for the Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services 2 (EMITS 2) to support U.S. Army Europe and Africa. The award, announced in October 2025, includes a five-month transition period and seven optional years.

The task order, targeting the U.S. Army Europe and Africa, aims to enhance operational readiness by delivering enterprise IT services across a complex network environment. This includes multiple locations and diverse mission partners, which are essential for a combat-ready posture in these regions.

GDIT will provide mission command support, modernize network infrastructure, and implement advanced cybersecurity measures. It plans to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), cloud computing, and data analytics to improve system interoperability and facilitate quick decision-making. Brian Sheridan, GDIT's senior vice president for Defense, stated, “A modern, secure and resilient IT network is critical to U.S. Army Europe and Africa's deterrence and readiness posture.”

The continuation of support highlights the company's long-standing relationship with the Army, which has included previous task orders aimed at enhancing security and readiness. Through this latest initiative, GDIT aims to maintain operational effectiveness for U.S. forces in Europe and Africa.
