Edgecore Networks partnered with Aviz Networks to enhance SONiC solutions aimed at India's data center and edge networks market. This collaboration focuses on developing solutions tailored for India, with facilities established locally to support research and customer demands for the Open Source SONiC Network Operating System (OS). SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) is an open-source network OS that facilitates the operation of network hardware based on standardized protocols. Edgecore's switches, ranging from 1G to 800G, support a variety of networking applications, including data centers and High performance computing (HPC) environments. The integration of Aviz’s ONES platform further enhances visibility and control for customers utilizing SONiC-based networks. The partnership addresses the growing needs of the Indian data center industry, projected to expand significantly. Vishal Shukla, CEO of Aviz Networks, noted that the SONiC OS aligns with the government's 'Make in India' initiative, positioning Interposer Technology (IT) Autonomous System (AS) suitable for future data center requirements. Pankaj Sharma, Country Manager of Edgecore Networks India, emphasized the integration of Edgecore's switches with Aviz's ONES platform and highlighted the potential for this collaboration to serve Indian customers effectively.
