Viasat schedules ViaSat-3 F2 satellite launch for November 5, 2025
Viasat, Inc. confirmed the launch of its ViaSat-3 F2 satellite, scheduled for November 5, 2025, at 10:24 PM ET. The satellite will be launched using a United Launch Alliance Atlas V551 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
Once deployed, ViaSat-3 F2 will undergo a multi-month journey to Geostationary Orbit (GEO), where it will provide broadband services from the 79° west orbital slot. It is projected to enter service in early 2026 following thorough in-orbit testing of its components. The satellite aims to extend coverage across the Americas amid growing demand for Satellite Communications (Satcom).
The ViaSat-3 satellite constellation is designed to enhance operational flexibility and efficiency in delivering high-bandwidth services. ViaSat-3 F2, with its increased capacity, will facilitate commercial uses such as high-speed Wi-Fi for aviation, home internet services, and connectivity for government missions. Mark Dankberg, Chairman and CEO of Viasat, stated, “Demand for resilient, global satellite communications from commercial mobility, fixed broadband and defense customers is growing exponentially.”
Gary Chase, Chief Financial Officer, highlighted that ViaSat-3 F2 will be essential for achieving Viasat’s financial growth plans. He noted that the satellite's capacity is expected to enhance earnings power and free cash flow generation.
