SEALSQ Integrates IC’Alps to Expand Chip and ASIC Design Capabilities
SEALSQ Corp said it completed the integration of IC’Alps into its semiconductor and post-quantum technology ecosystem. The move matters because it expands SEALSQ’s work on chip design and ASIC development tied to its post-quantum and cybersecurity technology roadmap.
SEALSQ framed the integration as part of a plan to build independent chip design capabilities in Europe, citing pressures including geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and cybersecurity threats. It said IC’Alps’ engineering capabilities would add to SEALSQ’s ability to design and control semiconductor technologies within Europe.
According to the company, IC’Alps operates as a core component of SEALSQ’s European semiconductor innovation platform. SEALSQ said the integration broadened its end-to-end chip development path, spanning secure architecture and chip design through post-quantum implementation and industrial deployment, and it combined IC’Alps’ engineering expertise with SEALSQ’s cybersecurity technologies.
SEALSQ said the result of the integration strengthened its ability to design post-quantum secure chips and secure elements, AI-enabled semiconductor architectures, Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs), secure microcontrollers for IoT and satellite systems, edge AI and cryptographic acceleration solutions, and custom ASICs for industrial, defense, and space applications. Carlos Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ, said, “This successful integration meaningfully enhances our semiconductor engineering capacity and reinforces our commitment to Europe’s technological independence,” and added, “In today’s geopolitical environment, mastering semiconductor design is no longer only an industrial objective, it is a matter of sovereignty, security, and economic resilience.”
Forward-looking statements in the communication address SEALSQ’s business strategy, financial performance, and expectations about future events, with potential differences driven by risks and uncertainties described in its SEC filings, and SEALSQ said it does not undertake to update those statements.
