SEALSQ advances quantum-resistant security modules for compliance by 2027.

SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) has updated its agenda for hardware security modules designed for quantum-resistant cryptography. This development aligns with stringent U.S. Government compliance requirements for next-generation cryptographic standards, which are set to take effect by January 1, 2027, under the National Security Agency’s CNSA 2.0 policy.

Cryptography Standards Update

The push for adopting Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) has intensified as federal agencies are currently preparing migration budgets for systems vulnerable to quantum attacks. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently finalized the standards for PQC in August 2024, which include key algorithms essential for future security protocols.

Product Offering

In response, SEALSQ aims to deliver the first Trusted Platform Module (TPM) samples that include capabilities for post-quantum features, supporting ML-DSA-87 and ML-KEM-1024. This initiative places the brand among early vendors to provide certified production parts that conform to the recent Trusted Computing Group’s standards for TPM 2.0.

QVault TPM Features

SEALSQ differentiates its offerings through its QVault TPM, which integrates post-quantum algorithms directly into the design of the chip. This enhances cryptographic performance by enabling key generation, signing, and encryption directly within the hardware, thus boosting both security and efficiency.

Market Relevance

These TPMs play a vital role in contemporary security infrastructures, facilitating secure boot processes, cryptographic key storage, and authentication necessary for zero-trust architectures. The applications of these modules span numerous critical sectors, including healthcare, finance, and supply chain management. By incorporating quantum-resistant capabilities, SEALSQ’s products aim to protect sensitive data amidst evolving threats.

“The countdown to 2027 has already started,” stated Carlos Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ. “Our customers require trusted hardware that meets today's standards and is certified against tomorrow's threats. With QVault™ TPM, SEALSQ is proud to lead the way.”

Customer Migration Confidence

As organizations work through the complexities associated with quantum transitions, SEALSQ’s advancements provide reassurance for customers as they elaborate on their migration strategies.
