Rackspace Technology launched Rackspace Cloud, a fully managed, multitenant cloud platform powered by Broadcom’s VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1. The company said it gives enterprises a governed option for running virtual machines and production AI workloads while maintaining the VMware environment and control they require.

The announcement came as organizations shifted toward governed private infrastructure. Rackspace cited a Broadcom survey result stating that 56% of organizations planned or ran production AI inferencing in a private cloud and that public cloud use for production inference declined year over year, from 56% to 41%.

Rackspace Cloud uses pre-staged infrastructure to support elastic consumption and provides integrated support for virtual machines and Kubernetes workloads on a single platform. The service includes enterprise-grade isolation, security, and governance controls, and it is delivered with transparent lifecycle management, multiple performance tiers, and 24x7x365 managed operations.

Rackspace said it initially made the platform available in Dallas, with availability planned soon in North Virginia and Chicago areas.
