Nokia and OneLayer partner to enhance secure private 5G/LTE for utilities
Nokia and OneLayer partnered to improve secure private 5G and Long Term Evolution (LTE) adoption for utilities by integrating Nokia’s mission-critical private networks with OneLayer’s Operational technology (OT) capabilities. The collaboration aims to enhance device visibility, operational efficiency, and security in utilities through a more connected infrastructure.
The rise in connected devices poses potential security risks, as highlighted by data indicating that 81 percent of cyber claims over the last four years were due to external manipulations. This partnership seeks to address these vulnerabilities by providing robust management and security features.
Nokia’s NetGuard Endpoint Detection And Response (EDR) and the overall NetGuard portfolio offer real-time threat detection and essential security management. Concurrently, OneLayer’s Bridge™ solution extends protection to utility endpoints, supporting a zero-trust security framework through advanced asset management capabilities.
Dave Mor, CEO of OneLayer, emphasized the partnership as a milestone, indicating that it combines both organizations' strengths to better support mission-critical networks. Prakash Sagadopan, Head of Enterprise-Wide Area Networks at Nokia, noted the collaboration’s focus on delivering reliable and secure solutions across utility networks.
Nokia’s technology has a proven history of supporting various industries, particularly in providing secure network solutions for utility companies. Their focus on operational excellence, combined with OneLayer’s zero-trust security approach, aims to assist enterprises in adapting to evolving challenges in network management.
