Lockheed Martin delivers 191 F-35s in 2025

Lockheed Martin delivered 191 F-35 Lightning II aircraft in 2025, exceeding the prior annual record of 142 and setting a new production high for the program.

Annual F-35 production Radio Access Network (RAN) at a pace the release described as five times faster than any other allied fighter currently in production, and the program reached one million flight hours earlier in the year while sustaining a global fleet of almost 1,300 aircraft and growing. Italy added 25 aircraft to its program of record and Denmark added 16.

The program completed TR-3 software in 2025 and the Joint Program Office and Lockheed Martin reached a final agreement of Lots 18-19 for the production and delivery of up to 296 F-35s for $24 billion; the JPO and Lockheed Martin also agreed to an Adaptive Incident Response (AIR) Vehicle Sustainment Contract award that supports annualized sustainment activities across the F-35 enterprise for 2025 and beyond.

Operational activity cited in the release included participation in suppressing Iran’s AIR defenses during Operation Midnight Hammer, nearly 5,000 mishap-free flight hours recorded by a U.S. Marine Corps F-35B deployment, and the engagement of Russian drones over Poland, described as the first time NATO F-35s engaged threats in allied airspace. Finland rolled out its first F-35, Belgium welcomed its first in-country aircraft, and Norway completed deliveries.

“I'm immensely proud of the F-35 enterprise for delivering on our production commitments, performing with excellence and growing our global partnerships in 2025,” said Chauncey McIntosh, Vice President and General Manager of the F-35 Lightning II Program. “As our warfighters continue to employ the F-35 to protect the interests of America and our allies around the world, we're committed to continuing to push the latest technology into the hands of the warfighter to defeat any threat.”

The Joint Program Office and Lockheed Martin described plans to produce and deliver up to 296 F-35s under Lots 18-19 and to support annualized sustainment activities across the F-35 enterprise for 2025 and beyond.
