ISC2 earns ANAB accreditation for nine self-paced certification courses
ISC2 said all nine of its online self-paced certification courses earned accreditation from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) National Accreditation Board under the ANSI/ASTM E2659-18 standard, and the accreditation provided cybersecurity professionals and hiring managers with an independent measure of the courses' quality.
The accreditation gave professionals and employers assurance that the courses were grounded in measurable outcomes and quality assurance, and the curriculum was described as designed to help learners review domains covered by the respective exam outlines to better position them for exam success. For government and defense employers, the accreditation confirmed the courses met DoD 8140 standards.
The accreditation indicated the courses were built using validated instructional design methods, aligned with recognized industry practices and current workforce competencies, included fair and reliable assessments that measured readiness, and underwent continual improvement to ensure quality and relevance. Assessors evaluated the ISC2 curriculum and commended the integration of computerized adaptive training, which customized each learner's journey by pinpointing areas requiring additional focus for exam preparation.
ANAB accreditation applied to all nine ISC2 online self-paced certification courses and covered offerings delivered by ISC2 and by its official training partners. Many of the courses also enabled learners to earn college credits as recognized by the American Council on Education.
“For those seeking clarity amid a crowded marketplace of cybersecurity education programs and unvetted training providers, this milestone instills confidence in the quality and relevance of ISC2 courses,” said ISC2 Chief Operating Officer Casey Marks. “This ANSI/ASTM E2659 accreditation helps individuals and employers make informed decisions about the education they pursue on their path to certification and career advancement.”
ISC2 said the courses undergo continual improvement and that it and its authorized training partners remain focused on building a global workforce grounded in competence, responsibility and trust and on keeping preparation accessible without sacrificing quality.
