Nextivity introduces ERCES and DAS integration for public safety

Nextivity has introduced a new solution that combines its ERCES and Direct-Attached Storage (DAS) technologies to enhance emergency response services in schools and public spaces. This system incorporates patented features, including acoustic gunshot detection, which is a first for a DAS. The solution complies with various safety regulations, including Alyssa's Law, NFPA, IFC, and UL standards.

The Nextivity WAVE Edge Services product line, featuring the SHIELD EXTEND and SHIELD SOLO products, supports critical public safety functions such as server-side antenna monitoring and panic button alerts. The integration of these technologies aims to improve safety protocols and response times in emergency situations.

Nextivity CEO Michiel Lotter stated, “We are very happy to see our advanced DAS technologies working together to deliver solutions that help keep people safe. Our WAVE Edge Services combine what we've learned through four generations of chip design into a much-needed, easy-to-deploy scalable IoT sensor network that leverages either cellular or ERCES DAS infrastructure.” Lotter will present this technology as part of a discussion on school safety at the upcoming #IWCE event.
